Experience
- I have owned dogs, cats and horses for over 30 years
- I currently live with five terriers, four of whom I bred
- I worked in health care for many years and this experience allows me a good understanding of the needs of the human side of the pet-owner relationship
- I have a lifelong love of animals
Ethos
The relationship between an owner and their pet should be rewarding and fulfilling for both sides, but if things go wrong it can cause considerable stress and heartache. As a behaviour counsellor my role is:
- to listen
- to collect information
- to analyse the nature of the problem and the likely causes
- to provide a diagnosis based on an in-depth knowledge of animal behaviour
- to work collaboratively with clients to remedy their pet’s problems using up-to-date, reward-based methods of behaviour modification
- to safeguard the welfare of my clients, both human and animal
